OPA (Obsessive Possessive Aggression) is a collaboration established in 2001 by visual artists Slobodanka Stevceska and Denis Saraginovski. Its practices are context based, including parody, created reality, tactical mediaand subversive affirmation strategies.

OPA’s interest ranges from the institutional to the political. OPA’s focus on the institutional aspect of the art system — the habits and rules set and internalized in such context, have resulted in works that are often fused withOPA members’ personal lives and a practice consisting of created situations, durational performances, nomadic practices, mockumentaries, etc.

The work of OPA is also political. It is often triggered by the ongoingpolitical conditions and matters such as nationalism, xenophobia, global and local hegemonies, etc. Relating this, OPA develops andappliesstrategies that involveirony,over-identificationorsubversive affirmation, but when possible, models andstrategiesthat develop practical utilitarian solutions and constructive art practices.
